UNIVERSITY (NTU)

this word seems strange and distant away from me from sec till J!. till J2 it seems like a motivation to study a goal. but what happens now after 8 months of holiday or rather 6 months of fulfiling work and 2 months of slack i guess is the excitement of going into a new phase of life, in a new environment, in a new place. away from familiar faces, familiar protection, familiar relationships. yup i'm all on my own now. no gong, no fang, no adora, no olie, no ele, ash is in socio, no mg gal or ac classmate in chinese (yennee fortunately). yup. i'm actually counting on myself to make new friends and to learn to adapt. For the past 12 years of school maybe its caused the MG MG MG till AC AC AC is ever so familiar. AC perhaps a little different but i'm sure not as far as NTU. its gonna be a chinese environment for me, someone who loves chinese but grew up in a english environment. so i'm kinda of in the middle. the choice of chinese just grew stronger in me i guess. excelling in my school till AC i was like not the top anymore. i expect alot from myself since its NTU now. more and more chinese experts.

Friday i had welcome ceremony at NTU. i saw zhilei, qimin, yennee and ash and bing. yup MG AC peeps. then we listened to speeches meaningful speeches encouraging speeches we sort of stood up for the pledge in with our gowns haha its kinda of a new experience and we sort the light up ceremony and had a new windbreaker NTU windbreaker :) and then we had refreshments after which i went to popular to check up books with ash and bing and then we went back to their hostels. one thing i knew why i didn't stay in hostel. i need the TV. my SCV. my doggies. my own space. my aircon. but most importantly i need the nearer distance to gong.

Sunday (yesterday) i had a great time at my chinese camp orientaion for 1 day. (1-6 pm).
i went there with a heavy heart and nervousness because i wanted to make friends but donnoe how. gong issn't with me. KAFE's not here. Lovelies not here. lixian, sher, xiao xuan jac not here. aaaaaaaaaahhhhhh. i'm alone. yen nee's in another group. firstly when i reach my dad got irritated cos we got lost AGAIN in big NTU and i didn't bring my map!! so he let me off somewhere in the NIE site and my battery was running low. so scared. i'm all alone in the big campus. but God send yen nee and my GL shi yun to me. Fortunately He sustained my battery life to tell them where i was till they came. ALL THE WAY from the south side of NTU to the NORTH side of NTU to pick me up. can you imagine how far it is that they walk just to come pick me? phew. Thankyou God for sending lovely pple to help me. and after that in the LT my phone battery went off. yup. phew at least i told gong where i was before it went off.
Then after that i missed a few performances after which i sat down alone in my group 3 DU FU (the poet as you all know) but we called the goup DOUFU. and our GLs were DOUGAN.(SHIYUN and WEIHAO) haha. it was humourous i must say. then after that it was teabreak and i was like taking my food and trying to talk to people. but everyone seems to be talking to their gangs and because i just arrive i didn't know where my gang was so i couldn't recognize who is it and saw the only familiar face i could run to was yen nee. filled with nervousness, freaking out, scared timid everyone in groups how come i cant find mine type of mindset i stood beside her with much comfort. at least i had someone. my GL shiyun came to me and brought me to my group and introduced me cos i was late so everyone didn't know me. WANQI was wat they called me. keke. so funny i must say i have to adapt to it cos for 12 years everyone called my YUENKAY. kk chinese division mah. i think WANQI is easier to remember. anyway i slowly got to know more peeps and they were all really nice and friendly esp this 2 gals called JIEXIN and RUILONG. hee hee. jiexin was from JJ and ruilong from TJ so i was really comfortable with them talking and stuff cos their friends were not in this group too. then i knew SHENGTING from Pj she knew gao lei also . She's duper good. cos all games she could do the cheng yu and everything. and then i knew JIAYI and LYNETTE along the way , ESTHER too and JUNJIE and MELVIN sitting beside me. great now i know at least 7.yay! so i talked to jiexin and ruilong along the way we had games after teabreak.

1) MUSIC REMIX. we are suppose to guess the different music in the whole song of 4 different songs. aaaaaaahhhhhhhh. i realise i don listen to much chinese songs. only could guess a few. great. must listen to more chinese songs.
2) NEWSPAPER CUTTINGS. we are suppose to cut out chinese characters from the newspaper and form a qing shu. wah that was quite humourous from the letter we made.
3)100 sec NG. yup the game from 5566 show shao nian te gong dui. its like performing stunts together as a group without a single mistake in 100 sec if not we have to do it all over again. we did it in one try :) i was the first along with other girls pulling our ears. the easiest lar. hee hee.
4)CHARADES pictionary type but chai cheng yu. this is the discouraging part. i only guessed one. sigh. this is bad. a few of them and xue jie xue zhang all know yup and shengting rui long also knew. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. discouraging. must buck up for chengyu.
5)PIECE THINGS TOGETHER. we are suppose to pick up 10 leaves, leg hair, road lamp, road sign, shelter or jsut take pic of them and then piece a story together. anyhow agar agar. hee hee
6)WORDS IN WATER BOMB. yup yup we had to put words in the water bomb and use the shirts to throw it to the pail and then form a chengyu. we had ALOT. hhahaa. i was using the shirt and throwing it. keke. fortunately not a lot got wet.

Along the way we were running and running in case we got last so sweaty. 8 months of no exercise lor and you ask me to run. but we went back second. not bad hor.
OVERALL we got no prize. nevermind. at least made new friends and it was kinda of fun. keke. we exchange phone numbers in a group at the end and took pictures then we took bus back to the interchange together. on the way i knew JIAMIN and JUAN JUAN. so many friends so happy!! yay!! at least this week when we have no tutorials but only lectures week i have friends to accompany me already :) yay!! thankyou God. :)
